This all-rounder makes, mounts and starts up machines. He programmes, inspects and assembles equipment, devices and robots. He develops the prototype and designs the machine, establishes the list of materials and supplies, and estimates production times and costs. He carries out functional testing and writes the system instruction manual. He delivers the machine and sets it up on client premises. Explaining, maintaining and repairing are all part of his job. The multi-skilled technician can be relied upon to update his skills continuously to stay at the cutting edge of technological developments.
He can be found in almost any workplace, in sectors ranging from the medical/surgical sector to the watch industry, from the car, aeronautics and railway industries to the optics industry, right down to agriculture.
